I am glad to introduce my first robot dog. I'm calling it "Dobo". The name 'Dobo' came from the words 'Dog robot'. Dobo is a 4 legged, 12 DOF robot which can sit down, lay, stand up, kick balls at the moment and soon will be able to walk and do many other moves (well I hope so).
Some photos and videos are better than many descriptions. So, I'm planning to post plenty of them. For now, here goes the first one.
Dobo is in its very primary stage. I just made Dobo in the last three days (Thursday to Saturday) . It took another day to write a software that I can use to experiment and create Dobo's movements. (I shall post some screen shots of it soon). Of course, the planning took several weeks.
I'm planning to embed Dobo's movements on a on-board Microcontroller and make a wireless remote for Dobo. So Dobo will be move without a PC and with it's remote. (Well, just a thought so far). I may also include a PC based vision system in Dobo and it may able to play with colored balls and show some interactions after that.
According to my knowledge, this is the first legged robot in Bangladesh, which can move with its legs (please correct me if I'm wrong).
If you liked Dobo or want to inspire me, please leave some comments. I'll try to post more on Dobo soon.
On Feb. 12, 2008: I changed the picture to a better looking skinned one.

dosto, it's an amazing task. i appreciate your dedication and sincerity in robotics. i wish i could make sometime like you to focus on this area. keep us updated with your latest works.
all the best.
Rise of the Dobos!!:) Can't wait to see it in action. Coordinating all those servos would be pretty hard though. But I guess there would probably be some symmetry in the movement of the legs and that should make locomotion somewhat feasible.
cheers,
Fahim
seems to be a multi-facet robot... I think an FPGA can be programmed to control the robot motion... but yes it will need to consider all the different joints or axis points...
btw... the AA batteries on the backgroud labels Made in Bangladesh, good idea if it was intentional... :D
It's been a long time coming, but it's here.. now it's here..
Only few days ago i was thinking what happened to the robo dog that the king talked about... few years back. Will that remain in virtual world only, only in our minds?
Now the time has come the world to take notice again..
THE KING IS BACK!!
Can hardly wait to see Dobo kick some balls :). Great Job Kaiser Bhai, keep us updated with the Dobo project
SIMPLY COOL...great work Kaiser Bhai
Great work! Keep moving forward with this, I would be eager to see the "Dancing Dobo" in the future :)
Congratulations.
You have done a Great Job.
Cheers for Dobo
Simply congratulations
Promise to perform the END
.|. Rashed .|.
Great work! Keep Dobo up with more tasks.
Wonderful job Kaisar bhai... ! I wish I could see it in person ! Do keep us posted with Dojos latest hip hop moves ! :)

i think u r the best husband in this world,and i wish u will be the best engineer in this world.love U so much and best of luck.
Thanks everyone for your inspirations.
@Fahim
Yes, legs have symmetric moves and it makes many calculations easy. In fact, the Dobo controller application has options to put symmetric values automatically. I'll post a screen shot of the app soon.
@Anas
Yes, I noticed the 'made in Bangladesh' text when I chosen the image :). I updated the image with a latest one and unfortunately this one doesn't have it.
@LUC (Mukit bhai)
I'm glad to know that you remember my ideas for the robots. You really inspire me a lot :). Don't know how to thank you.
@Z
Now you've already seen Dobo kicking some balls :).
@Rajon, Remon, Reza
Thanks, I hope Dobo will rock you more soon.
@Moitry
I couldn't have done it without you.. be right there as you are.. always. :).
Dobo will look better, cuter in a few days. I'll post more on it soon.
I appreciate your dedication. Great job! Keep it up bro.
This site is a must-read for all the information you want on German Shepherds.
